The Centre houses a Laboratory, Rodent Rearing Unit and Flea Rearing Unit. Fortunately, through the Centre of Excellence funding, the Centre has constructed a new building for establishing colonies of other priority invertebrate pests. Among other sections, this building consists of four rooms which will be furnished with climatic chambers and be used for establishing laboratory colonies of mosquitoes (Anopheles, Culex and Aedes), cockroaches, armyworms and blackflies.
Currently, we are working closely with our partners to solicit funds for constructing a screen-house for semi-field mosquito research; and to establish a Biobank for ensuring reliable and long-term storage of diverse biological samples/specimens for future research. The University has already allocated enough land for these and other developments.
